The 2009 Media Award recognises a person or persons working in the media
industry for their positive portrayal of the work of
teachers and schools, and their recognition of the value
to the community of teaching as a profession.
PTCWA PURPOSE STATEMENT
The primary purpose of the Professional Teaching Council
of Western Australia (PTCWA) is to promote professionalism
in teaching.
PTCWA is an umbrella body of more than sixty associations
of professional educators. Member associations are administered
on a voluntary basis by professional educators.
These professional education associations
represent over 9,000 teachers within
Western Australia, across all learning and cross
curriculum areas.
PTCWA is a member of
the Australian Joint Council
of Professional Education Associations.
