About PTCWA

The Professional Teaching Council of Western Australia (PTCWA) is an umbrella body of some 60 + associations of professional educators. These voluntary professional education associations within Western Australia, represent over 9,000 teachers across all learning and cross curriculum areas.
Professional education associations are autonomous groups of educators from all levels and sectors of education. Every association has a particular area of educational interest which is generally reflected in the association's title. Association members are brought together by their passion for education and their desire to enhance quality teaching and learning through continued growth and development of their craft in an area of shared interest.

  • PTCWA's website provides a centralized listing all professional education associations in WA. Hotlinks are maintained so that interested persons can make direct contact with association management.

  • PTCWA's function is to promote professionalism in teaching through an enhancement of the work of professional education associations. It provides a wider context for the work of professional associations through facilitation of networking and communication between individual associations.

  • PTCWA provides a forum for the discussion of broad educational thought and current issues.

  • Membership of PTCWA offers members a variety of member benefits.
